DID YOU KNOW?
Tea is the world's second most popular beverage after water. Increased understanding of the role anti-oxidants play in the prevention of cancer & cardiovascular disease has positioned tea as the ideal health beverage. Tea is the healthy alternative to coffee & alcohol; it is 100% natural, fat-free, calorie-free drink & untainted by additives. Technically speaking, it's only tea if it's made from the leaves of Camellia sinensis indigenous to China & India and later introduced to Japan and many parts of Southeast Asia. Today tea is grown in over one hundred countries to meet the worldwide demand.

WHITE TEA is the rarest tea available-these delicate teas are new buds plucked before they open & are withered to allow the natural moisture to evaporate, then gently dried. The flavor is subtle & must be carefully appreciated. It's health benefits are similar to green tea.
~ Contains cancer fighting anti-oxidants
~ Cooling & detoxifying
~ Has the lowest content of caffeine found in all teas
~ Anti-aging & anti-stress properties

GREEN TEA'S delicate, unfermented liquor most closely resembles the taste of the tea leaf in its natural state. Some are described as having a light, slightly sweet, herbaceous flavor, while others surprise the tongue with a smoky, malt-like flavor that leaves your mouth dry. Both green & white teas contain all the active ingredients; these have made them popular drinks & also a fascinating natural remedy. According to medical journals, both are an excellent source of iron, fluoride, & important mineral & vitamins. They help relieve stomach & intestinal problems, reduce blood cholesterol levels and have anti-inflammatory effects.
~ Highest content of cancer fighting anti-oxidants
~ Antiseptic & anti-viral effects
~ Fights degenerative diseases & supports immune system function
~ Strengthens tooth enamel & fights bad breath
~ Potent source of vitamins & minerals
~ Effective for slimming & weight loss

OOLONG TEA is 75 percent fermented and evokes the qualities of both black & green teas. They are generally referred to as "semi-fermented" teas.
~ High content of tea polysaccarides
~ Lowers cholesterol & blood sugar
~ High content of anti-oxidants
~ Strengthens tooth enamel
~ Potent source of vitamin & minerals
~ Effective for slimming & weight loss

BLACK TEA is the most processed of the aforementioned teas & taste the least like the natural leaf.
~ Heart health
~ Helps prevent plaque build-up in arteries
~ Increase bone density
~ Oral Health
~ Fights bad breath

PU ERH TEA is China’s great mystery tea famous for its heath giving benefits, very low caffeine levels and rich, unique and comforting flavor. The secret is in the aging process. The tea ferments at less than 40 degrees for 40 days. It is then allowed to dry and age for many years. The secret is the addition of an ancient bacterial culture, by adding old, ground Pu Erh during the fermentation process and aging in conditions that are not too hot and humid.
~ Helps metabolize fatty acids & oily foods
~ Believed to reduce cholesterol & blood sugar levels
~ Cleansing & detoxifying to the bloodstream
~ Perhaps the most effective tea for slimming & weight loss

RED BUSH TEA (ROOIBOS) is from the leaves of the Aspalathus linearis plant from South Africa. It contains no colorants, additives or preservatives & is naturally caffeine-free. According to studies, red tea releases natural anti-oxidants that actively combat & help neutralize harmful free radicals. It's also loaded with antioxidants & rich in vitamin C. Red tea contains 50% more antioxidants than green tea.

HERBAL TEA (Infusions) is naturally caffeine-free because their ingredients do not contain caffeine. Herbals are comprised of only herbs, spices & flavorings. They do not come from the Camellia Sinesis plant. Herbal Infusions are not only refreshing and soothing, they can also be used externally as skin tonics, eye washes, baths, dressing for wounds & compresses.

TEA & CAFFEINE
Tea's active ingredients are caffeine in combination with the tannin that gives it its pungency and much of its aroma and flavor (which essential oils also enhance). The New York Academy of Medicine held a symposium on "Pharmacological and Physiological Effects of Tea" in 1955 and found that, for reasons they could not explain, tea, unlike coffee, does not cause nervousness, insomnia, or stomach irritation when drunk in quantity. The scientists' tests showed a cup of tea gives both an immediate and a delayed lift without secondary depressing effects later on. They agreed tea is a good agent for relieving fatigue and aids clearness of thought and digestion alike.
